The cover crop, a mixture of natives, Mustard and Clover was
averaged 4 feet (over a meter) in the 2009 . here it was
near Peter's shoulders (he's about 5' 10"). Here Peter stops
mowing for a minute to set up this photo in the Trousseau

.jpg) This photo was taken in the spring of 1972 at the south end of the Old Zinfandel block. If you click it and view the Full-sized image and look carefully in the grassy ground cover in the fore-ground you can see what appear to be small brown stumps about one foot tall. Those are the Old vines that were already about 70+ years old! (click on icon or text to see photo) |
