Featured & Photographed for Wine & Spirits magazine in article! Yes! that's me (in front of My Circa 1947 Caterpillar in the Old Zin block with a bottle of 2000) on page 38 of Wine & Spirits October 2004 issue "Raiders of the Lost Zinfandel" & those Roma Tomatoes were in my garden!

A rustic, gutsy style, and not for every taste, but it is distinctive for its earthy blueberry, black pepper and wild blackberry aromas. Well-structured, with jammy, ultraripe flavors that tighten their grip on the finish. Drink now through 2008. 457 cases made. |

My Zin is designed to be balanced; NOT the common over the top Harsh American Oak & NOT Port like alcohol with prune flavors…(many like that taste!) The balance with Ripe fruit, fresh Russian River Valley acids on some French Oak allows it open up slowly, great with a wide array of food. Let it open up in a fine wine glass or lay it down for a few years!
"Pushing ripeness to the edge of dried grape concentration but stopping while the fruit still remains in view, this is a fairly big and rich wine plays off boysenberry notes against vanillin oak before running into youthfully coarse tannins in the latter half . It may never find real polish and smoothness, but it drinks well now as a strongly flavored, rough-edged wine suited to service with hearty barbecue.
